Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-03-17. This policy explains how Walk to Work collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects personal information in connection with candidate accounts, public job browsing, employer recruiting workflows, applicant screening, distribution of public job pages, and paid employer services.
1. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email address, password hash, session or login metadata, and account role.
- Candidate data: saved location, resumes, application materials, autosaved application drafts, custom screening answers, optional file uploads for screening or supporting documents, saved jobs, alerts, preferences, optional EEO responses, and messages.
- Employer data: company profile data, jobs, ATS notes, scorecards, interview records, filter presets, exports, internal job references, billing contacts, and billing addresses.
- Usage and device data: IP address, timestamps, browser or device information, page interactions, and security logs used to operate and protect the service.
- Payment and subscription data: plan selection, subscription status, invoices, limited billing metadata from Stripe, and billing or tax information collected through Stripe-hosted checkout or customer records.
2. How we use data
- operate candidate search, save, apply, messaging, account, and draft-recovery features;
- operate employer ATS, team, notifications, analytics, billing, distribution or share tools, and support features;
- measure product performance and improve matching, trust, screening, and usability;
- prevent fraud, abuse, scraping, unauthorized access, and security incidents;
- comply with law and enforce our terms and policies.
3. How recruiting data is shared
- Candidate applications, messages, custom question answers, screening uploads, and related supporting documents are shared with the employer and its authorized hiring team for the relevant job.
- Employers may grant access to owners, admins, recruiters, and other authorized users according to role-based permissions.
- Public job pages, job titles, compensation, location, and other listing content may be indexed by search engines or shared through employer-facing distribution tools. Candidate application data is not included in those public share flows.
- We may share information with service providers that help us operate infrastructure, email, analytics, and payments.
4. Service providers and processors
Our practical provider stack may include Stripe for payments, subscriptions, tax calculation support, and billing portal services, plus service providers for email, infrastructure, and analytics when analytics cookies are enabled. Payment card information is processed by Stripe, not stored directly by Walk to Work.
5. Retention
Candidate and employer records are retained while accounts are active and for reasonable periods afterward for security, support, legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and operational history. Applications and messages may remain visible to the employer that received them even after candidate account deletion, unless deletion is legally required. Abandoned drafts, temporary uploads, and similar unfinished materials may be deleted after operational expiry periods.
6. Rights and controls
You may request access, correction, deletion, export, or other rights available under applicable law. Candidate self-service controls are available at Privacy & data controls and summarized at Candidate Data Rights and Deletion Workflow.
